Ventured out there on Tuesday, and wow...very good considering campus is cold in the Summers. Great drink specials, nice staff, and definately the place to dance up at CMU. Some of these posts were dogging this place for being busy on the club night's....last I knew that is why people go to a dance club. If you wanna go an eclectic atmosphere...hmm, try a brew pub. You wanna dance, Wayside Central is your place.

They wanted me to pay $5 to walk over from Okellys, even though the bar/club was empty. I thought it was funny they had a VIP section. Never got that crowded, but the place is pretty huge. Lots of young girls shaking their money makers while predictably lame poppy low grade dance music loudly pumps from the speakers. First time I've ever been to a club when they played the Cupid shuffle, mambo number 5, and nsync... I mean seriously? DJ sucksass playing all of last decades hottest wedding jams. 3 stars cause the place is big and kinda cool looking, and it is fun to dance.... even occasionally when the music isn't very good.

The hub for middle-aged perverted men who want to hunt drunk college girls. "Amber" alert!

Positive things about the Wayside? Well, the beer is pretty cheap. Bellringers are delicious if pricy. The people-watching will always make you feel better about yourself. Seriously, this place is, simply put, a meat-market. If what you want is to get sloppy and hook up, this is your spot. It's 18+ with poles and cages and everything that implies. The dancefloor is perma-packed with the writhing, barely dressed, wasted, underaged masses, the sidelines with creepy old townies. Fights are commonplace. The night just isn't complete unless you get a drink spilled on you. Touching anything in this place should be quickly followed up with a good handwashing. All that said, the Wayside is almost a rite of passage for CMU students. Conveniently located just off campus, it's a serious draw for the college crowd, at least until they turn 21. Beyond the legal drinking age, there just isn't a really good reason to go there unless you're a creeper or feeling nostalgic. If you want to dance it's the only place in town, but on party nights it's just too crowded to do anything other than bump and grind with the sweat-covered strangers surrounding you. It is definitely not for the claustrophobic, and getting a drink can be a serious time commitment. Sunday nights see a break from all the Rihanna and Usher as they are Oldies Nights and can be pretty fun. Bottom line: The Wayside, sketchy though it may be, has a niche and if you went to CMU you probably had a fuzzy night or two at this place and loved every second of it, even if you don't want to admit it.

People seem to have fun. If you like dirty disgusting dance floors the come here. The clientele is pretty slutty with creepy looking guys toward. As you can tell it is not my thing but my cousins like it... Stick to okellys next door. Much nicer, but similar crowd

There's a reason that it's nicknamed the Waynasty. This place is a total meat market at best. There are cages and poles that people (wasted girls) dance on. I am pretty sure that those poles are carriers of major disease, yikes. The only good thing about the Wayside is the Bellringer. It's a huge glass of everything under the sun that kinda tastes like fruit punch. If you have to go here, and you order one, don't get sticker shock (I think that they are like $8). It's a seriously kicked up Long Island-ish drink. They are dangerous...hence the pole dancing?

I felt it would only be fair if I gave a review to Wayside Central after reviewing Wayside Western. Central is not like western in any way. It's smaller and mostly just a big bar/club. Nothing notable except the liquor flows like a river out of the bottles and in to underage college girls' mouths faster then they can let people in the door.
